I had discussed the prospects of BJP win in Loksabha elections in this post https://ycshukla.com/will-bjp-win-2019-loksabha-elections/ . It was based on foundation day horoscope of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) .
However , every prediction involves dasha plus transit effect of planets as on date of event . For this , we need to know the dates of elections and declaration of results. Indian General elections are spread over about 2 months and many planetary positions change and accordingly the mood of people and voting patterns keep on changing .
Election Commission of India had announced poll schedule on 10th March 2019 , as given below and it consists of 7 phases of elections from April 11 to 19th May 2019 and results would be declared on 23rd May 2019 .
|Phase||Date||Seats||States / UT |
|1||11 April||91||20||Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Odisha, Sikkim, Telangana, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep|
|2||18 April||97||13||Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Manipur, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Puducherry|
|3||23 April||115||14||Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Goa, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu|
|4||29 April||71||9||Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal|
|5||6 May||51||7||Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal|
|6||12 May||59||7||Bihar, Haryana, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi|
|7||19 May||59||8||Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, West Bengal, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh|
Position of Major Planets On Election Dates
|Date||Major Planets Position||Change in Sign / Direction of Major Planets|
|11 April||Sun in Pisces ,Mars in Taurus, Retrograde Jupiter in Sagittarius, Saturn in Sagittarius , Rahu -Ketu in Gemini-Sagittarius||Jupiter Becomes Retrograde on 10th April .|
|18 April||Sun Goes to Aries , Rest Unchanged||Sun enters Aries on 14 April .|
|23 April||Jupiter Goes Back to Scorpio , Rest Unchanged||Jupiter re-enters Scorpio on 23 April.|
|29 April||No Change||No Change|
|6 May||Saturn Retrograde , Mars just going to enter into Gemini||Saturn becomes retrograde on 30 April , Mars into Gemini on 7 May .|
Mars into Gemini , Rest Unchanged
Sun into Taurus , Rest Unchanged
Mars in Gemini on 7 May
Sun into Taurus on 15 May
One can see that there are many important changes in planetary positions during 11 April to 19 May and when results are declared on 23rd May , Sun would have changed 2 signs , Mars one sign and Jupiter & Saturn both would have become retrograde .
This shows us that whatever mood of people is being observed in March end , would undergo many changes and each election phase may have a different tone and these elections can be a roller coaster like ride where Congress and BJP may be appearing favourite in some phases .
We particularly need to focus on retrogression of Saturn and Jupiter for any reversal in popular mood and for that we need to focus on 11th April and 30th April . Mars sign change on 7 May is important as it will form Mars-Saturn opposition along Rahu-Ketu axis so , it may cause some violent incidences also in last phases .
Election Result Day Transit
BJP has a verified horoscope while we are not certain of main opposition Congress’s Horoscope . BJP horoscope has Moon in Scorpio , so we can check planet position from Scorpio as ascendant on 23 May 2019 at evening time by which time results would have been declared and picture would have been clear .
and we can compare it with planet position on evening of 16 May 2014 when BJP got absolute majority :
We can see in second chart , that ascendant lord Mars is well placed in 11th house of gains . Moon is 9th house lord and in own natal sign which favoured BJP and mood of BJP was very upbeat on evening of 16th May 2014 . If we assume Saturn for opposition , it was eclipsed in 12th house .
When we compare this to 23rd May Chart , Mars is in mysterious 8th House with shadow planet Rahu eclipsing Mars . Moon is in 3rd house which is neutral . Saturn is with Ketu so opposition may not be gaining again . The plus point this time is Jupiter presence in Ascendant as lord of 5th house and second house . That shows hope for ruling party but it is certainly not as good as it was on 16th May 2014 .
- It is an academic exercise to see effect of transit of planets on election results and it is in no way a support for any political party .
- Any change in election or result day will make the whole analysis redundant .
- Because of Election Commission guidelines , clear predictions are not to be made till 19th May 2019 .
